Wk7 - G = Green Pencil Colouring Challenge with Lyra Rembrandt Polycolour pencils

Hello, welcome back to a new challenge today! 

Remember that you can see lots of shows on Hochanda  TV showcasing Lyra Rembrandt Polycolour pencils so make sure you watch out for them in the schedules....

So this week G = green...

(you can combine with other colours so long as you have some green)

This can be interpreted as you wish but we want to see some lovely colour combos from everyone - show us your favourites!

Scatty Jan Ohhhh such a cute image , I loved colouring Little Hattie up , You can find her in the store here along with lots more cuteness. Now I am not a huge Green colour fan , but once I got going I loved it - it could even become my new fav colour to go to!

Jane – Hello! I had fun this week colouring up this cute little guy, available HERE, using him as a topper for a bookmark. Greens are not my usual go to palette but I do like how this turned out!!

Cara - I couldn't wait to colour up this cute little pirate, he looks great in his green's! I do love working with greens and now I am a lucky girl with the whole set of pencils I was spoilt for choice with the selection of green shades!

Nikky...I've not had much time this week but this was also the first real foray into the green section of my Lyra Rembrandt tin LOL, so it was quite exciting mixing them all up! I had a jolly green time in the end just playing around - problem is as usual I forgot to write the numbers down but basically I mixed a bit of everything together! My favourite green is by far and away Veridian but it's more of a bluey green really but I have to use it somewhere! The dress was cedar I think...

The face is brown ochre with some cinnamon.  You can get the Little Hattie image here...

Scatty Jan I had lots of fun with funky colours this week - I got to colour up the lovely Aurella , you can find her in the store here . She really is stunning . It was nice to colour with colours I do not normally pick....

Nikky...I chose this PRISCILLA image which is quite Halloweeny but I wanted to colour her up in a non Halloween way which was a little tricky, but this is one of my favourite colour combo's of all time, I just love the retro feel of these colours. Sorry but I didnt get chance to make up a card...

Colours used: Turquoise, Veridian (dress)

Skin: Brown Ochre, light skin, sepia

Greys & Black for stonework etc

Reds = Vermillion

Blues = Peacock

Window = Gold Ochre, Canary yellow, Vermillion, White pencil

Cara I chose the image Without Wings and decided to go completely out there with a fierce colour clashing combination!! I made the skin quite dark otherwise she would have been completely washed out by the bold colours!

Yellow: 87,13,9,8

Hair: 80,82,83

Lou: I chose the image Esmeralda for this challenge and in attempt to try something new with a background, (which subsequently didn't work out), had to go back to the drawing board. I have chose 70's inspired clashing colours for my image.

Skin: gold ochre, brown ochre, venetian red and prussian blue

Hair: light orange, dark orange, prussian blue and dark sepia

Scatty Jan Wow I loved my image this week Sally Sadness you can find her in the store here. I think she really suited the Eerie colours theme. She is really cute . Enjoyed colouring her in something different for me.Also liking the darker colours I always seem to reach for lighter colours first.

Nikky...Oddball images are so my cup of tea! This is Sally Sadness - poor Sal! She's so miserable bless her little woolly tights, I love her! I coloured this with my Lyras and then last minute put her onto a canvas...she's a little splodgy and splattered because I oversprayed by making a wash with my PanPastels too but I actually really like her a bit distressed it just adds more to her character I think - see more over on my blog how I did this....

Unfortunately I was too dim to write down the colours I used because as usual I got enthralled in the colouring lol...sorry!

Cara ....This week I got to play with the image Clarissa and I adore her! As she had the stitching on her face I decided to give her green skin a bit like Frankenstein!  To give my image a darker look I coloured it all in Greys first and then went over with my other colours, I did the same with the sky too!...

Scatty Jan Ohhh think darks was a bit tricky for me I soooo wanted to add some lights in. I used the lovely Witches clothes Line bundle adding in a few cut spiders/ bats/web/grass and gravestone.  I added in a few bubbles to the cauldron and to give some background

Yvonne - Hello there! I am on holiday but still had time to play with this fab bundle from Melonheadz called  Halloween String Beans and these are so much fun! I loved colouring these up.  I opted to make a stepped step card - as I thought their long legs would lend themselves well to the stepped card.   I used papers from the Polkadoodles Halloween Papers bundle 1 and 2, the pumpkins and sentiment is from this too, you can see the range here.  All the colour combos and close ups of the images are on my blog!

Susan - The images I have used are from the Feelin Witchy Bundle I had so much fun playing with these images....

Nikky...It can be a bit tricky when you think 'Darks' but you can actually achieve this quite easily - really it just means contrast, if you get really good contrast between light and dark this will make your image really pop and the darks then become much darker without really being too hard to achieve. Optical illusion!
I adored this image from our lovely sponsor Melonheadz...this was from the Wizards Bundle here - they supply you with a bundle with little supporting elements so I pulled them all together in Word and just made my own little scene....I should probably have gone much darker but I really wanted to get a nice glow effect going on...

Colours I used are (sorry this might not be 100% as I forgot to write them down!)
Skin: 82 Brown Ochre, Umber, Light Carmine
Clothes: 55 Night Green, Violet
Cauldron & Cat: Black with a little Violet added
Bubbles: Night green, Veridien, Violet, Gold ochre

White 01 to blend

Cara....I used the Halloween Stuff bundle by Melonheadz, I absolutely adored working wit the images, I combined two of the Zombie images, I think they are adorable and a bit like me and my husband.  I used my browns for shading on this card as I wanted the colours to look quite dirty ... as zombies do of course!

Orange: 13,15,17,76

Blue: 44,51,Black

Scatty Jan I adored colouring my image this week - This one is called Autumn Fall reading and you can find her in the store here . I love using the Autumn colours in the pencils apart from the skin colours I used pencils from the 24 set.....

Colours I have used:

Hair Dark Sepia/Van Dyck Brown/Gold Ochre

Light Blue/True Blue

Venitan Red /Pompeian Red

Sap Green/Apple Green

Cara - For my image I went for alternate autumn colours, I was thinking frosty mornings ect, 

as the image has some quite large areas for the background I used some Sansador and a paper stump to blend.  I also made use of my White Graph'it shake marker to add details and my Gold glitter Shake pen to go around the border.  I also went over all of the details with a black fine liner to define the image more as sometimes I go over the lines and they get all faded.

Sky/Background: Black, White, light grey, Blue Violet, Prussian blue, Light Blue

Skin: Venetian Red, Burnt Ochre, White

Dresses: Blue Violet, Dark Grey, Black, Light Blue, White

Yvonne - I got to play with this fabulous image called 'Autumn Fall Girl Reading' which you can get here. I loved this image and it was so easy to colour, I made a 7x7 card.  

I coloured the image with the following pencils:

Skin: 32, 89, 92

Hair: 82, 80, 76

Tree: 87, 76, 75

Coat & pumpkins: 08, 13, 15

Boots & Scarf: 39, 38 & 36

Grass and bushes & leaves: 68, 70, 71, 82

Nikky....I went for Creepy Autumn colours for this challenge, I adore this image from our sponsor, it was perfect for this challenge. 

I really wanted to get a nice glow from the fairy wand so I left that area right to the end to make sure I could really get some great blending. I really didnt use that many colours on this image and just laid down lots and lots of layers to build up the colour...I don't know what paper I'd printed this on but it was pretty awful & didn't give a lot of tooth so I need to get rid so I don't end up with more LOL!....

Colours I used: Skin Fairy: 31 Medium Flesh, 82 Brown Ochre, 76 VD brown, 27 Lt Carmine cheeks

Hair: 37 Blue violeet, 36 Dark violet, 41 delft Blue

Witch: Hat/dress/shoes: 39 Lt Violet, 37 Blue Violet - + 33 Wine Red on Dress, Cloak Black

Background colours: sky - 15 Dark Orange, Black, 24 Rose Carmine...landscape: Black + violets, Foreground: 67 Veridian + 83 Gold ochre
